ProCOTE Aqua-Terra System and Traffic Coat Polished Concrete
ProCOTE Aqua-Terra
The ProCote Aqua-Terra system in North America is an aggregated flour-like mix blended with an acrylic polymer binder to provide a chemical-resistant, anti-slip surface that can be colored and sculpted to meet a wide array of design criteria. Random scoring, brick pavers, field stone, and more can be integrated directly into the topping for a unique finish appearance. This product is ideally suited for display porches, patios, walkways, etc.

ProCOTE Traffic Coat Polished Concrete
Polished concrete is a relatively new construction finish. In the past, most general contractors, concrete contractors, and finishers placed concrete without ever considering doing concrete polishing since the process was commonly just an afterthought. With the rapidly growing popularity of polished concrete finishes, many of them must now consider that what they do to the cement might affect how the polished concrete finish product will ultimately look.
At ProCote, we stay ahead of the curve and perfected our polished concrete services before the finish became popular. We even offer ProCote Traffic Coat Polished Concrete, a multiple-process, diamond-ground cement polishing and densifying floor finish for heavy-traffic areas. To achieve this, we use industrial-grade diamond abrasives to gradually grind, hone, and polish concrete until it has a brilliant shine.
Benefits of Our Polished Concrete Finish for Heavy-Traffic Areas
Less Maintenance
Most floor systems, including tile and linoleum, require aggressive scrubbing to maintain a clean environment and a nice appearance. ProCote Traffic Coat Polished Concrete surfaces are tightly compacted to reduce stains and do not require any waxing or stripping to maintain the sheen.
Polished concrete maintenance can typically be done with water or a neutral-pH cleaner. It requires no stripping or waxing. Just dry or wet mop as needed with clean water and buff as needed. Polished concrete care can include buffing with an ordinary floor buffing pad or polishing with a high-speed burnisher for a higher shine.
Cost-Effective
Traffic coat polished concretes significantly reduce energy and maintenance costs through improved reflectivity and ambient lighting, reduced upkeep since waxing and specialty cleaners are not needed anymore, and less susceptibility to damage. Thus, this construction finish provides an extremely long surface life.
No Dusting Required
In ordinary, unpolished concrete, tiny particles of dust are created when the weaker portions of the concrete surface deteriorate. Our polishing process removes this weaker layer and hardens the other calcium hydroxide in the concrete by applying our stabilizer, a lithium silicate densifier.
Stain-Resistant
ProCote uses penetrating lithium silicate densifying and sealing products in our concrete polishing process. Combined with our signature stain protection products, lithium silicate can transform a porous concrete floor into a tightened floor that is dense enough to substantially increase the surface's ability to repel liquids and stains. This concrete finish helps slow down or prevent the penetration of water, oil, paint, and other contaminants into the surface, giving you time for a proper cleanup.
Reduced Tire Wear
The rough, uneven texture of natural concrete causes tires to abrade, adding to their wear. Traffic coat polished concrete finishing will level the joints and make the entire surface smooth, preventing such abrasion.
